Steve - Have you been to Snowshoe before?  If not here is some good advice.....  Take plenty of food and rent a place with a kitchette. Food there is to bland and to expensive.  Make sure your vehicle has good brakes prior to driving there!  The road there is like a roller coaster.......  I went the first two years and got motion sick leaving both times....  (I get motion sickness anyway alot, you being from WVA, you may be fine!   And watch every step you make on the side of the mountain, it's treacherous. Especially when they've had a rain, a bunch of falls each year result in broken legs, ankles and bows......    Don't be surprised if the IBO shuts the mountain a day or two due to lightning. It's prevalant at snowshoe.       Hope I didn't spoil the trip, you'll have a good time, just wanted to share some tips with you. Just be careful walking it's slicker than heck........

    Bart,

Thanks for the great advice. I have my reservations about bringing my wife along, she is 2 months pregnant right now and I have heard that the footing up there can be rough. She wants to go really bad though. Not sure what will happen. I have been there, but only when the snow was on. Iguess it will depend on the safety of my wife and unborn child, know what I mean. Hopefully I will get to go though. Again, great info, Thanks!!
